All the ingredients needed for the next Picasso June 29, 2000 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
This book is layed out very well - one project per page with all the ingredients needed right at the top. Many of the projects utilize styles or techniques of famous artists with suggestions on how you can expose children to their works while still in a fun creative environment. The book is written from an artist's perspective exploring texture, color, space etc. We love the projects and vignettes about the artists.
Perfect for the age group! March 8, 2007 melissa c (Little Rock, AR) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am an elementary school art teacher. I bought this book because I teach 2 preschool classes of 20 each, and it has been a struggle for me to find lessons they can handle that aren't just crafty. This book has plenty. It includes lessons on line, shape, color, clay molding, collage, and many more. I will use some lessons straight out of the book. Others I will change the materials. Painting with a group of twenty 4 year olds is not my favorite thing to do!
Great teacher resource May 5, 2008 Colleen Reedy (New Hope, PA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful resource for pre-school teachers! It is filled with many wonderful ideas and projects. I used it as part of an art appreciation theme and found it extremely helpful. I'd recommend it!

i am writing a new curriculum with a co-worker for a preschool art class ... this book helps teach each element of art ... great starting point for ideas!
Great for homeschoolers too! February 19, 2010 Molly 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this book to use at home with my 6 year old and am so excited about it. I love the way the book is organized. Each assignment is very detailed and actually tells you how to teach the assignment (like specifically what to tell the kids). Whereas, the other art books I own are full of really great project ideas but don't go into depth on the style, form, etc. I also love the fact that she gives ideas of artists to display with the assignment and even tells specific pieces that would correspond best making it a great way to tie in art appreciation. Great buy, highly recommend.
